I thought the February 2015 cold was more widespread.

I've noticed that too but I don't know why either. I'd rather we wait until June for summer, so I'm not complaining.
The departures are not as bad as in February 2015, but that's just because we;re closer to summer. In summer, departures of +/-4 are essentially the equivalent of +/-12 in the winter
You can say the same for blizzards and snowstorms......
