30 straight above average days. Gotta be some sort of record. Averaging 88.1/66.6 this month, easily the warmest August ever. Hot today, then a big cool down (only forecasted to be 73/55 on Monday) and then back up to high 80s and low 90s for a few days. After that, looks like the rest of the month will be 80-85 but it's still too far out to tell.

Similar here too, a big one day cool down is forecast for Monday 23C/14C

Been hot and dry for months. Grass only now starting to come back to life.

Here the grass is still brown and even the trees are being affected--leaves are turning brown and falling off. An inch fell on Tuesday but it didn't seem to help green things up very much. Now there's extreme drought less than 20 miles south of me.

Well, would you look at that.

Stationary thunderstorms along the north shore of Long Island, some areas closing in on 4 inches. Part of this area is in a severe drought, so it's a good thing. Meanwhile I get nothing but a nice view of cumulonimbus clouds.
