One of the worst European climates. It's way too hot and dry in summer and too sunny year-round. D

On the other hand the north suburbs are much cooler. Both during the summer and particularly during the winter. For example Dionysos (around 450m altitude) in the extreme north of the Athens urban area should have an average minimum of 2C or 3C during January.Again during the summer it's way cooler than the rest of Athens.

I have cousins all over Athens... In Pagrati, Holargo, Perisreri....

I see, but all of these areas are not close to the sea. That's why you probably had this experience when you visited Athens. The sea breeze works wonders in the coastal suburbs of Athens during the summer (well, most of the times).

D+

Summers are too hot and probably humid. Winters are a bit cool for my liking.

Hot and dry is much better than hot and humid!

It's not bad. I'm not fond of the heat or the cool wet winter. I gave it a C.

I've been there in the hottest days of summer and because it's dry it feels much better. If you give it a D, then anywhere in the UK would be F- lol

I think this is a solid B climate.

I've stayed close to the sea as well. I definitely can tell a difference. My koumparo is from Argyroupoli. Anyways, when I'm in Greece I don' like staying in Athens too long. I much prefer Kefallonia.

That would be true, if I liked hot, sunny summers - which I don't. I would rate my own climate a C-. I like every season here except winter, because it's too mild and doesn't snow enough. An A climate to me is Kiev, Turku, Stockholm, Minsk etc.

I've experienced plenty of dry heat, and I don't like it. The sun feels especially searing.
