I think that's more of the way the trough/ridge is set up at the moment.

Not really. Lexington is almost 5 F warmer in terms of average daily high.

That's true for Islip, but I lean more towards NYC (JFK) than there. Lexington (65/46) is slightly warmer than here (62/47) on average, but it's fairly similar overall and does match with some climates around here, such as LGA (63/48).

Lol. Not in short term and since that level of the atmosphere moves like molasses and firmly stays in one region for weeks looks like N.America wins its visit first. We'll just have to see the implications.

How about ocean effect showers right now

Probably short term memory on my part as well, but every time Wildcat posts about Lexington's weather it's almost always warmer there than here lol.

It looks like we tend to get greater anomalies in both directions.

lol.

A look at the current map.. Very important to see where the freezing line is at 4500'.

Clipper storm over Illinois right now, notice warm all around it.

Freezing line aloft about to move north out of Philly area.

Areas that are East and North of that freezing line has the chance at snow but the warm air is moving in as the storm does.

You can see the precip breaking out across PA and Southern NY now. Binghamton should see snow falling within couple hours

There's not a lot of moisture with this storm, typical with clippers
