First snow of the year this morning! Nowdata hasn't updated the amount of snow yet, but we got 0.17" of precipitation. From what's coating my car, I'd guess about an inch fell. Still no freeze.

Almost windier today than it was with Hurricane Matthew. We had a gust of 40mph last night!

Nice! Nowdata updates after midnight so todays snow will be there tomorrow. So if 0.17" liquid melted from the 1" snow that's 6:1 ratios. Wet snow.

Smells like snow outside and cold. So rejuvenating !

lots of Virga going on but some spots might see the flakes. Moisture is very light above so its just evaporating coming down. I do see some darker blues so within those areas is where you'll be lucky to see any flakes until the atmosphere primes up more

Not even Poughkeepsie reporting anything yet.. Soon though

Wind here is from the ENE, Cloudy too with on and off showers. My winds are because of a powerful high pressure in Montreal

Current radar and metars. The important freezing line at 4500'

Poughkeepsie reporting snow now and Waterbury. I had sleet for few minutes now nothing.

Drizzle on Long Island and NYC and White Plains

It's above normal at the surface and above so they are done with the snow chances.

Still below freezing at 4000 feet above CT

That's why some areas are getting sleet. There is a small layer of warm air filtering in but mostly still below freezing for now.
