I believe south of there more rare. I think northern tier U.S gets the opportunity occasionally.

On that note.. wanna really compare? Bridgeport once again is broken and hasn't reported (makes me wonder about the data now past couple weeks)..but here is Hartford.

Check out the departures of that warm week vs this cold week. (shaded boxes)

Not really "as anomalous". The heat was stronger than the cold. If that hot week didn't happen this month would of been slightly below normal. Lets call it seasonable. I hate when 6 days skews the monthly Average!

That 37 was a record low max for them, they only highlight record high max and low min.

Last time I was at 60° or warmer was 7 days ago. It's still October, not November.

172 hours straight for Danbury, CT and counting

Now... we warm up.. except maybe New England still

3 Maps...

Today

Beginning of this coming week

Patterns always have to relax and so in 2 weeks this could be coming back...and naturally will be colder and stronger.

Not for my area. Just gets warmer every year as the planet heats up.

The last 20 years have been the warmest ever and there is no stopping rapid warming world wide. We no longer have cold weather in my part of FL. Coconut palms are growing 30 miles more to the north compared to 1981.

Just another person living in a dream world. If he wants boring, hot and dry weather he can move to my part of FL.

That is worlds away from me. On avg the whole planet is seeing warmer temps. Sure sure some areas will see below normal temps as nature has to be kept in balance kinda like anti matter and matter. People need to wake up and see how rapid warming is taking place. Sea level rise and rising temps will see a snowball effect as no one ever dreamed it could happen so fast and it will happen at a much faster pace.

There it is..

The always famous PV (Polar Vortex) Current look Oct 29, 2016 6:30amEST (10:30z) where it is..

Enjoy the warmth and seasonable weather next 2 wks. Lets see where the wave dips down to as time nears.

Notice right now where the freezing line is at 850mb, north of border.. Jet stream lifted back to Canada. Matter of time it drops back into U.S and the force of the Vortex overpowers the southern surge of heat

Low of 34.8°F today. Heaters once again running.

Lets just show red average maps constantly day after day and ignore the fact that its going to be cold and chilly and frosty and snowy. Sure.
