Hearing baseball announcers talk about the weather is cringeworthy. The way they describe temperatures in the 40s you would think it's -50 F outside. I get it's a sport centered around summer but come on. 40-50 degrees in Chicago in early April at night is hardly anything so shocking.
It's 57 after midnight in early April which is unusual. June-like?
Looks like work on Friday now- I was really looking forward to a sleep in. Will have to get totally munted on Thursday night, so as to be unproductive on Friday
Sounds like you were in your right and tried to be nice to him yet he's acted like an ass. If I were you I wouldn't give him a dime, you don't owe him anything.
dude texted me and said he paid 40 euros (which is less than I expected). I proposed 20 and he said I should pay 30 at least. I replied it was his own fault and he had acted as an ass indeed, and that 20 is already generous enough considering the case. If he replies something bad I will block him.
Well my medical bills were covered and the boss met me at the hospital and was really cool the whole way through and we had a few laughs and banter. He told me some stories about the injuries people get picking fruit, and he himself one time collapsed in the hospital from exhaustion! They also wrapped me up on site and offered to drive me to the hospital but I declined as I felt I could drive myself, it was only a short trip down a straight road. This guy was really nice, nah he'a a really friendly Samoan or New Zealander islander, I think I'll buy him some beer at the end of the season. I've worked with Pacific islanders before and they seriously are the nicest guys you'll ever meet.
It was really in my hands though, these were only a small pair of hand held snips, it was easily avoidable. Apparently it's common for people to jab themselves as they get used to the work, probably not to the extent of blood dripping in an even stream to the ground, but it is a common type of injury. Just as the supervisor was treating me onsite, another dude was showing me the 5 bandaids on his hand
The main obstacle in this line of work is that bastard sun, it just ****ing burns up here like a bitch out in the field. I'll need to take liters of water every day, I will be going through a 10 liter box every half week I think. Clouds are nearly non-existent, honestly I can count the number of times I've seen cloud since New Years on one hand.
