The further north you go the more left the people get. The right and the Sweden Democrats are biggest in the southernmost part (Scania). People in Northern Sweden often have a kind of spite for southern Sweden because "everyone is racist and violent there". Northern Sweden is usually overlooked by the state and southerners so that also plays a part I guess. Wealth is fairly evenly distributed throughout the country though.
Southern anti-immigration people tend to be right of centre whereas northern tend to be left of centre economically, especially in the interior voting patterns re Sweden Democrats doesn't differ that much. It's just that the coastal towns outweigh them because of the massive population. Also many would be SD-voters haven't experienced third-world immigration to the level the south has, that's why they're not polling so well in the coastal towns, even though a potential base of male working-class, frustrated vote is there.
I'd say in the 2018 election, SD will reach at least 10 % in Umeå, 14 % in all of Skellefteå, Piteå and Luleå for the first time, and upwards of 25 % in Kiruna.
bar exceptional circumstances like 2010 decent falls of snow and proper cold in early to mid December have not happened all that often. It's not until later in the month and into the New Year when things have changed more often to a colder outlook.
In my area I get the coldest lows and maximum temperatures with the most snowfall in December! Maybe in mild England you need to wait until February for good snow but not where I'm from.
Finland seems more prone to mass shootings than other European countries. It has a somewhat high homicide rate compared to similar countries.

Kinda the opposite in the UK. Far-right parties do better where there are not many immigrants.
There's bordering chaos in Umeå right now. It's raining even though the temperature is -1'C and because it was -15'C just a few hours ago, the roads are really cold. Some of the rain is freezing instantly on the roads and the rest lies on top. I've never experienced this slippy roads. Everybody is going no more than 15-30kph and sliding all over the place even though everyone has studded tires.
Debating going for a jaunt to Iceland, has anyone been?
