English standards 26C is hot in the summer, and 2C is brutally cold in the winter.... And I thought that the English were a hardy lot
A 26c high is not hot in the summer, it is warm. A 2 low in winter is not brutally cold either, it is average. A 2c high would probably be the coldest day of the year most years.

Take it easy lol. I was making fun of your tabloids which print these kind of headlines.
Really 29C is hot? It's pretty much ideal summer weather around here (not for me, as I like it above 30C). It's not like they are going to issue a heat warning because it's 29-30C or something. Lol
Even now at the start of June our news doesn't call 29C "hot". Because it's not. It's just warm. And 25C is mild... No oversensationalizing.
Your news also calls 5-10c in winter, 'mild', when it's not. It's cold to cool.
