Latest is usually early May.
Snowfall that doesn't stick and stay for a bit, can happen in any month, but thank God usually doesn't happen very often. I have seen snow in the air in June and July personally. I have seen snow in the air and then turn into an inch of small hail in Aug.
Earliest: October 25th, 1957
Earliest Measured: October 26th, 1913 (.8 inches)
Latest Measured: April 12th, 1957 (.7 inches)
Latest: April 30th 1907 and 1949.
I find it funny that 1957 we had our latest (measured) and earliest snow ever. Must've been a chilly summer...
Well, I can't find any stats, but I do remember that we had snow Sept. 25th (?) about 20 years ago. I also remember that we had sleet June 5th about 10 years ago. It's a family member's birthday so I have that date down right. As far as snowfall, I'd guess mid-May would be in the area of our latest snow, but generally it's done by May 1st. Our in the Black Hills which is a half day away from me~we were out there a few years ago and it had snowed in mid June.
