...HEAT INDICES OF 103 TO 107 EXPECTED LATE THIS AFTERNOON...
Heat indices of 103 to 107 degrees will persist into the early
evening hours as hot temperatures and moderate levels of humidity
remain in place. Although an isolated shower or thunderstorm could
bring temporary relief to some locations, most areas will remain
dry through the rest of the Independence Day holiday. Those
enjoying outdoor holiday activities should exercise caution as
heat related illnesses are possible, especially if exposed to
direct sunlight.
Raleigh has been doing fine, its places further west from the coast that have been not doing too good. Big heat for parts of the south next few days but Raleigh will miss out It seems.

I've noticed more times then not a front is over the mid atlantic. Makes sense why the real heat is staying down south. But I still suspect North Carolina extra cloudy this summer because of it.

Its going to get hot in Raleigh per todays forecast, maybe first 95 degree day on the way in next few days. However, all the upper 90s are confined just a bit further south. Indeed this stalled front has made things very cloudy this summer and unsettled. Today a bit below average at 88 but we warm up as front heads north.
