It's about that time of year again where spring slowly starts to sneak back up in our minds. This is a preliminary outlook released today by TWC.

Here it should be a long way off yet, but today the sun is beaming down and it's in the high 30's F so perhaps it was about time

We have another 3-4 weeks until the first signs of Spring will start to appear.

It'll be another 7-8 weeks until our first warm day of the spring though, unless we get a Feb like 1998 or 2008.

Im ready.. sunny and 50s and 60s please for 3 months straight. Oh and a few long duration rainy days would be good. And a breeze. And no humidity. Too much?

I've actually been thinking of spring today as well. We've not had much true winter weather to speak of so the only way you know it's winter is the length of the days, the sun angle and the gloom:sun ratio.

The three darkest, gloomiest, wettest, dampest months of the year on average will be over soon, and today's a beautiful sunny, mildish-feeling afternoon

I'm actually really looking forward to spring this year as the winter so far has been pretty cold and I long for days between 15 and 20c.

There's a very noticeable difference in sunshine hours even between February and January. There's an even more noticeable difference between February and March.

In 5 weeks time the average high will be back above 10c again.

The later sunsets are becoming apparent, we're around the 5:00 PM mark now. In a matter of weeks the sun will be setting at 7:00 PM.

Put this together. Actual temp departures for each Spring since 2011. I hate using 3 month averages because it doesn't show a true result of what happens with ups and downs or extremes ect or even a majority of what was happening..

Anyway -- Temp Departures.

Precip Departures. Ohio Valley and Northeast hasn't really had a good wet spring since 2011.

lol. 70°+ and humidity is what kills me. Under that is fine...for Spring and Summer. Or maybe my preference is changing a bit to like warmth in Spring

Last year ...... March we had record cold, record warm, snow on 21st.

April couple big storms, I started mowing lawn mid month. Warm with Blooms but also sharp cold fronts. Omega Block with awesome dry weather.

Then May was cool and wet. Horrible for garden.
