CNBC tends to be more of a business-oriented channel, has stuff on stocks and other market news. So tends to be a bit conservative. MSNBC is the liberal one, even though they're owned by the same company.
Corbyn has completely put me off Labour Not that the Conservatives are great or anything, but he is just an absolute ****. And I hate the way he has politicised the Grenfell Tower fire...
The thing is though that this could have certainly been prevented if political decisions had been made.. cladding that was used is banned in the US for example but was most likely used as it was cheaper. Also recommendations were ignored and no doubt the response was poor. May and the tories had every right to be scrutinised for that as there were clearly issues that led to that fire being as bad as it was
Also lonmaren, you need to stop with your ridiculous claims about UK politics. According to you anybody who doesn't like the tories or supports labour here is a 'commie socialist' but I don't think you understand UK politics as much as you like to say you do. It is a lot more complex than simply labour = left and conservatives = right wing.
Immigration is a big issue and many people who vote labour do so purely for economic reasons here - conservatives give the rich tax breaks and have screwed over our public services with cuts and austerity in general. Labour in general offers better pay and lower taxes for lower income earners whilst increasing it for the richer. Lots of labour voters voted leave in the EU referendum and did so because they wanted control of our borders - what do you say about that? Many labour strongholds are in the north/north east where their views are that immigration is bad and I think you'll find a large percentage of these voters have what you would call traditional right wing views - it is the economic pull and hatred of the tax breaks given to the more wealthy that attracts these people to Labour.
Conversely down here in the south east it is your beloved 'right wing' tories who actually tend to support immigration and voted to stay in the EU. I am a centrist when it comes to politics. I think immigration needs to be capped, I support a welfare system but think it must be capped to encourage work. I hate a nanny state. So in that sense you'd expect me to be a conservative voter - but I detest them purely for economic reasons as they view that the poorer in our society should take a higher burden of tax than they currently do and they let big corporations and wealthy individuals have massive tax cuts.
But again, it works. This is how you win votes. The Tories are experts on winning - and they often play dirty to do so.
And let's be honest - the Grenfell tower fire was always going to be political. No way it couldn't be. People were always going to point fingers at the borough council, and the MPs who voted down fire safety regulations. The Tories would do the exact same thing if Labour had been in government at the time.
Expecting such an event not to be politicised is the kind of naive mentality right-wingers usually accuse left-wingers of, lol.
Not for me... No doubt some will be lapping it up, but I doubt very much if he will increase his popularity by using the deaths of at least 80 people To me that is disgusting...
And yes these sort of things often are politicised but I thought Corbyn was above that, obviously not...
You don't read much about what I've written about neo-liberals pal
Having said that I'm more of a rural East of England/East Midlands kind of "right-winger". Those areas generally aren't in favour of neo-liberal policies but see the Tories as the lesser of two evils and voted at least 65 % to leave the EU.
To vote Labour if you're against immigration is like eating a cake when trying to lose weight. It doesn't even make sense for any UKIP voter to ever vote for "Palestine first" Corbyn.
Well, I don't like him because he wants a United Ireland and his arrogance.
