At university, I had a ''drug chemistry'' lesson. That lesson was in English language. I was the only one in the class who was able to speak English with the teacher. A lot of students don't give a damn about learning English.
How come you learned English? Where did you learn it?
Lol everyone in Israel speak English as second language I'd say that along with the Scandinavian nations and the Netherlands they have the highest proficiency (among their Jewish population).

I took preparation class before I started my department at university, I also joined an English course for sometime but it was mostly by myself. I started with a grammar book to learn how to make the sentences. I watched too many English Movies with English Subtitles. It was mosty Movies with English Subtitles that improved my English. I started learning English at the age of 21. Since it is an international language, I wanted to learn it
I don't get how anyone can possibly think learning a second language is somehow a negative or a "why?" thing. Everyone should know a second language, IMO. It increases your mental capacity and even helps out your English. Also helps you out big time in terms of job prospects.

Bilingualism is such an obvious thing in Sweden.
I can't even think of how life would be like not to be fluent in two languages anymore.
