Exactly... it is warmer and that is key. People in the Southern Hemisphere want to live in warm climates which is smart IMO

Most of the time exciting weather in winter can be really annoying and even dangerous. Besides, Melbourne gets exciting weather in summer which is better IMO. How could anyone call having 45C and 20C in the same week as not exciting?

Exciting? I call it bulls**t and a major reason why I didn't like the climate. The cold fronts and seabreezes rolling in to ruin summer are as predictable as the sun rising. Nothing remotely exciting about 20C highs and stratus in high summer.

No kidding, who wants that in the summer. Give me 30C+ everyday and I'll be happy, like Brisbane saw early this year.

Much of a Vancouver summer is at 20C anyways so it's not a big deal for me... I would much rather 20C than guaranteed snow every winter like what we get just about everywhere in Canada.

Of course I would much rather it warmer but 20C isn't bad. At least it's not snowing at that temperature...

20C isn't ideal, but it's manageable.

Melbourne's summer temperatures actually seem pretty awesome to me, unfortunately the relative lack of thunderstorms is a deal breaker and ideally averages should be at least somewhat warmer. Winters there seem pretty sucky though.

Coldest day of the year so far across BA metropolitan area. Even some stations recorded their first freeze. In BA's central station itself the min was 4ºC and the max 12.9ºC. It felt like a full winter day, with that beautiful cold and dry breeze.
Some mins in BA province today, widespread freeze:

Azul: -3.9ºC
Mar del Plata: -1.6ºC
Tandil: -3.5ºC
Olavarria: -3.3ºC
Bahía Blanca: -2ºC

---

Ghost, you saw the latest GFS run? Maybe the first snowfall for southern Brazil highlands this next weekend. It seems like they will have their first major cold entry of the season, just in time for the winter.
