I dislike how rare thunderstorms are (although there was a nice one this fall). I wish the weather was a bit more dynamic in general, with more intense but shorter-duration rains, and larger seasonal temperature changes.

I think you'd like it here, then. It fits all of those descriptions easily but is still a mild-winter climate.
My least favourite thing about my climate is the short winter days in which the sun is very weak, even if the sky is clear it is too weak to really feel sunny.
I love the four seasons, but as I get older the cold get to me. Where I currently live, we get a lot of wind. So much so, that on an average day the wind can get up to 112 decibels. And that's just stepping out your front door standing in it. You can imagine what it's like when temps drop in the winter and we get -17 F and that wind is blowing. We live nestled in between two mountains with a river flowing right next door.
But, I have to admit... You can give me a blizzard any day!
Paris has a Cfc climate. When you come from central Europe, you feel the humidity. The problem of Paris is the same as all Cfc climates -and it is compounded by its relatively high latitude (48°50') and the effects of the Gulf Stream -: the Parisian "gothic" winters are long , drawn-out, grey, and damp, albeit not particularly cold save the periodical cold front coming from Siberia (a walk in the park for most North Americans I guess). But these drab winters really can affect one's mood (for me it does), the way it does with the lack of sun in winter in Scandinavian countries (SARS sufferers). The rest of the year, albeit often too rainy (particularly in may and mid-october to late november) is relatively fine though, with -surprisingly- quite impressive heat waves (temperatures can soar to 34°c, again a joke for a Texan) from mid-june to mid-september.
Paris is not Cfc climate, Paris is Cfb. Not bad climate for me.
