I don't want to seem too optimistic, but I think spring may have arrived in Tennessee

I have no idea where they're getting their data, because trees in Kansas City are still mostly bare.

Looking outside my window facing Bryant Park. Trees are bare, but it does like (from a distance) that I can see some buds. I'm guessing that a week from now (if the weather holds up) we'll see a different picture.

The cultivars in the model are lilacs and honeysuckles, i.e. shrubs not trees.

But if I understand it correctly, it's also a model based on weather observations and weather events, not on based on actual observations of actual plants. Strange but true.

4th full sunny day in a row. Been since December. Feels so good. Temps in the 60s 3 days in a row. Been since October for that!

Next week... Just in time for Summer. I don't think will last but Wednesday May 2nd might be a widespread hot day.

Today is the first taste of hell mel. We are in a west wind and it feels just like our reverse west windflow in the summer almost minus about 7 degrees cooler than compared to summer. Dew point is around 71. Anytime the wind blows off the gulf with this kind of setup means nasty dewpoints.

Delayed greening of trees has been the norm here in the northeast for the last several years at least. This is unusual since its more pronounced than recent years. But we're finally seeing greening of trees and the hills and mountains should start showing color by next week.
But while Spring is delayed, the pattern of Autumn being delayed is also true. Its like the seasons shifted back two or three weeks, maybe even four now, and didn't tell anybody.
