Exceptionally hot weather in Alberta the last couple of days.

Today, there are all sorts of locations above 100°F. Most notable is Lethbridge at 39.5°C at 3 pm MDT which exceeds the all-time record there of 39.4°C and also gives them a good chance to break the magic 40°C mark.

AC has been working OT and my shades havent been opened in 3 weeks. S.A.D

What about Banff? i always saw that area as one of the most "sheltered" from the nearby heatwaves of the NA plains. Their record is only 34.4ºC and they had over 32ºC yesterday ¿How much today?

And is this data reliable?

Wiki gives that area a mean max of 28-29ºC on August. So, those would be some absurd above normal deviations!

Banff at 4 pm MDT is exactly 34.0°C so a good chance of an all-time record.

Lots of possible all-time records in southern Alberta today.

Lethbridge is now at 40.0°C (104°F) at 4 pm so an all-time record and first (official) reading at 40°C or higher.

Calgary is at 35.9°C. All-time record there is 36.1°C so in with a real chance.

Milk River is the hot spot at 40.3°C. All-time record there is 41.0°C so also a chance there.
