Well a gloomy day in Austin. Only 38F with a high of 52F. I hate days like this, if it's overcast I want it to rain.

Warming trend later in the week into the upper 70's ahead of a massive cold front that will bring freezing weather. The roller coaster continues.

Gloomy here too but at 22°. That crazy front is a piece of our crazy weekend here.

I'm glad there's only been 1 day this winter with temps reaching 60s. 2015-16 had 10.

My least favorite weather is mid 30s for highs and no precipitation. The only advantage is no harsh sunlight. I prefer much colder temperatures with snow on the ground and indirect sunlight.

That's true. If a storm hits Chicago, it usually swings northward by the time it gets out to the east coast and thus usually puts Philly, NYC and Boston in the warm sector. Look at this run for the 18th. It has Chicago in snow, but the I95 corridor in rain

This weekend's snowfall runs. I like SOME of the members. LOL

Just heard Bastardi state that this cold will run right through February and probably break for Europe in later February early March, but hang on in the eastern US until late March or early April.....

Are you seriously claiming Tampa is hotter than Djibouti?

Yes, the dew points are very high there, regularly in the upper 70s or lower 80s.

Have a look at this past July: average max of 104°F including a day with a maximum of 114°F and a maximum dew point of 81°F.

Or check out August: average maximum of 106°F including the 8th with a maximum of 111°F. On that day at 0800h the temperature was 100°F with a dew point of 86°F. The "coldest" day of the month in August had a maximum temperature that exceeded Tampa's all-time record high.

Or check out the first month of "winter", this December, where the average maximum was 86°F and the average dew point 71°F. And they still managed to score a dew point of 81°F on December 20.

Sun destroys everything thanks to UV. Paint, skin, plastic you name it. I like seeing the sun on super cold days, but in the summer when everyone else is getting rain, i am in the shadow line when we are in a reverse west windflow. Right on the gulf coast is clear while just inland there are clouds and rain. I do really hate our summers since they changed in the mid 80's.

I am not in Tampa. For max all time temps Tampa would lose as the most ever was 99f. It is the darn lows where i live right on the gulf and insane dew points that are a killer. Anytime we are in a reverse west windflow you have a west wind blowing off of 85 to 91f degree water temps making it a steam bath from hell.

My Lows avg 77 to 84f in the summer and dew points avg 74 to 82 and sometimes higher. Walk out at 6am to get the paper and it like the air is sucked out of your body and a hot slap in the face. It is like stepping on Venus.

So as i said, my temps and dew points would make any place blush. Sure some places have hotter temps and even less rain than i get, but not many.

I want that deep blue over me. We better start getting rain soon or this month will end up in the hole with below normal rain.
