Easy prediction is tons of record high temperatures before the end of the month.

The 500mb height predications are literally straight out of late spring/summer.

No doubt, it's even more extreme than numerous setups in the infamous blowtorch La Nina 1999-2000 winter.

GFS latest has a couple of +60 degree days over the next two weeks. Also noting that downward trend after the 16th

Maybe a pattern change as we hit week 3 week of December??

This will be the strongest La Nina ever as it killed the tropical action dead in it's tracks in Sept. Not one boil up near Cuba this fall.

Torch crap pattern. Was 55 today in upstate NY in the middle of December almost with heavy rain and 60mph winds, with LIGHTENING in December for upstate NY! . Whatever snow we did have (very little) melted away. Now it also looks like that snow storm we should have gotten will go too far south off the coast. Then 50’s again this week and rain. Near the Adirondacks this is. Crazy how many winters have passed that have been way too warm and rainy. Last good storm was the one good snow system that dropped 3 foot last year. Either way even if we get snow it doesn’t stay anymore, it just melts. If this is the future of winters for the US while Alaska and northern Canada gets all the cold it will suck dearly.
