LOL! I'm often wondered if the geckos had invaded Lubbock yet? If not, it's definitely a tempting thought! I like the dry climate so much better there too! Lubbock's climate is probably a bit too cold for them. (In truth, all things being equal, I would love to move back to Lubbock, but we have too many deep roots here now.)

Geckos are harmless, loveable creatures that sell car insurance on the side.

Btw they eat far more disgusting creatures like roaches. Maybe the little lizard dude saved you from much greater ick-if-ication!
i will take 100 lizards in our house over one 8 inch centipede any day of the year.. lizards eat baby centipedes and that's a good thing in my book

I do NOT like centipedes either. I will admit that.

I don't know KayKay, the last gecko that came over to my house had a British accent, and he was trying to sell me car insurance...

If I got geckos in my joint, I wouldnt give 2 craps. We get white tail spiders during the "warm" season....apparently the bites of these spiders can cause necrosis but recent studies show that this is not the case....still I have to kill one of these buggers on average once every 2 days.

I already have car insurance, thank you. They needn't come by.

yep those white tail spiders are a real pain in the butt in summer here..... I dont know if they actually cause necrosis, as a according to endless accounts of thier bites, as scientific reasearch has apparently debunked these cases of rotting flesh from said bites, but just to be safe I kill them on the spot.

We don't have the whitetails here, thankfully, but we do have brown recluse spiders which can indeed cause necrosis. My best friend had a bite from one and it was pretty nasty going for her for awhile. She did not require skin grafting, but some do. Brown recluses are an issue, but they are not what I would call extremely common here, thankfully.

Not to mention the "giant" flying cockroaches we get every summer. The German ones are the worst, breed like hell and in their thousands. They thrive on the humidity and 20oC minimums which is another reason to hate it even more

Arriving at work one time a few summers ago, someone left a half full champagne glass outside and inside it were about 10 drowned cockroaches
