I have a spider issue, I could use a gecko! Two spiders in my upstairs bedroom lately, geesh! I don't freak out over them but do not like surprises! These are ugly ones, not daddy long leg types. I want to spot them before they surprise me!
Actually,
I remembered one of the worst experiences that are unique to our summer weather season:
-getting horribly sunburnt on a day warm enough to be outside,
but "not warm enough" to stay in the shade with short sleeves.
(trying to enjoy summer in short sleeves,
feeling barely warm enough in the sun,
then getting ROASTED by U.V. rays... and you only feel the effects later in the day )
I enjoy the less-restrictive feeling of short sleeves,
and try to take advantage of it whenever I can.
Only things I dislike about summer are it's easier to get sunburn, (which probably EVERYONE agrees with)
and here "cold" is still just as common as "hot."
*Imho, our "Summers" would make a lovely "Spring",
and our "Spring" would make an adequate "Winter"
I like being in Canada sometimes,
but often the seasons really feel backwards
when you compare temps and sunlight intensity with the calendar date.
(sometimes I'm in a better mood when I forget what time of year it is. )
I know what you're talking about. For the past month or so, there have been days where I think "I would love to have this weather in January, but it should be warmer at this time of year." Today for example. It's supposed to be 62 and rainy. Good winter weather, but should not happen in June. This means my graduation will probably be indoor.
I've seen flying bullants here. These things come in wonderfull colours like red and orange and can be up to 40mm long.
My worst summer experience was February 2005, when on one day the high was 14C/57F and 120mm of rain fell
Do they bite? I think ours might be able too.
However our flying ants tend to be under 1/2" long (15 mm?)
That does sound dreary,
but at least with that kind of rain you don't get sunburnt.
For me a cool day with fierce U.V. rays giving you "sun soreness" or worse, a "burn"
LITERALLY adds injury to insult...
It SMARTS and you'll feel it for days.
At least with a cool and rainy day
the instant it warms up with some sun, I feel 100% better.
