Makes sense, more variety to see in a year.
If I was 100% insensitive to cold, even I might actually love the variety snowy-winters provide.
The way I am now, I would probably prefer an afternoon at 118 F instead of 18 F.

I can totally relate to that, especially with my sister being the opposite, the warmer it gets, the worse she is because of not sweating enough. I'm that way somewhat but not as bad as she is.

She moved from Illinois to Upper Michigan, part of the reason was a cooler summer. When I was still in Waukegan, she would come over to my house on hot days, she lived 30 mis. SW of me and major temp difference in the summer.

Not yet, but much more snow and Ice here and I am headed south. Tired of shoveling snow, and don’t like black ice, or any ice where I drive or walk.

This question sounds famaliar but here goes.
Ive moved for a relationship about 15 years ago. I moved for a new job. I moved because of a new job and at the same time, it was an open door to getting out of a relationship.
Weather may only be a partial factor and am not sure that even if the company I used to work for had stayed in business, chances are very slim that I would have stayed in Az anyway. I needed to be closer to my dad during his last days and as often as he was sick, needed to be here for him. And from day one (back in 96) when I first moved to Az it wasnt intended to be a permanent move anyway.
Point being (again) I wouldnt have moved solely and only for reasons of weather.

Lot of great posts, a lot of variety too. I don't think most ppl would move soley due to weather but when foul weather is combined with other negative factors, it becomes very plausable to move at least partly because of weather. For me, I want to move for many reasons but the unrelenting heat is definetly at the top part of the list. Would have moved yrs ago, but as others mentioned, economic factors have kept us here, stuck for far too long. I'm already dreading the inevitable onslaught of Summer(Spring for those up North).

i'd move in a heartbeat if I had the chance.

then I could laugh at the antarctic territory of Melbourne and victoria from my Cairns pad at their low 50's "summer" nights and low 70's mid summer heatwaves.

I'd joyfully post about my warm summer nights, lovely warm rain and thunderstorms, and nice hot summer days.

In a similar vein, if I ever need a pickup (i.e. it is overcast and/or cold and wet in Sydney) I simply check the Wellington (NZ) weather for the day - I lived there for two years and the climate is appalling. 95% of the time, it'll be worse than Sydney.

That crappy day in Sydney suddenly doesn't seem as bad

SAB - I hope you have an end point for a potential move...
