I've never seen that before, but it appears the ad was for a coffee maker.

Actually it looks like something that might just happen in S. Texas (or any other place that does not get much snow).

In places where snow is common, this would never happen because the person would start the car FIRST, THEN proceed to scrape the snow off the car with a special brush (which is usually kept inside the cabin or trunk), not with the briefcase.

Except in South Texas,
strong chance no one would have went to work with a chance of snow.
This guy look exhausted after a long day of work.

Now Dallas? Maybe...
as I hear most of them feel compelled to commute through ice and snow, despite no one understanding how to drive in it.
(a legacy from too many "Yankee" transplants since the first oil-booms? )

Yeah, that's usually a better idea.
I try to clear the snow off the driverside door though, else it ends up inside the car.
