Here in North GA(Especially during the winter), are skies can be VERY blue in rural areas outside of Atlanta, because in Atlanta the sky is usually an ugly, hazy whitish-color.
Ready for the bluest skies youve ever seen? Went hiking yesterday at the bluffs along the Rock River here in Illinois and was shown perhaps the most blue skies Ive ever seen in my life. My brother and I stood there with our necks aching for about 15 minutes just enjoying the deepest blue skies we've ever laid eyes on. You really have to stare at it fo ra minute to really see how BLUE it was. It was so blue that it looked fake, like one of those blue, movie backgrounds that you see Hollywood use. Beautiful, isnt it????
Great Pic!!! i've seen blue skies like that up in the mountains of Western NC, Very Beautiful!! thanks for posting that!!
yeah, is it me or does the sky seem to be a deeper blue when it's very cold outside?
When it's very cold, the dewpoint, which measures total water vapour, has to be lower, so there's less water particles in a certain amount of air. Maybe that has something to do with it.
Usually I'm too busy try to get out of the cold as fast as I can to notice if the sky is a deeper blue when it's 10 F or lower.
Maybe it's partly because I live in an urban area, but our blue skies always look like that milkly or opaque blue that Botev1912 showed over Seattle.
