I think it can safely be said that the vast majority of England will experience far from summery weather for the next week at least. The SE will always do better than anywhere else here simply thanks to geography.

I know your average isn't good and it's half of even that,
but we are as cloudy as Melbourne's cloudiest month for 6 months of the year.
Sun ending 12th:

Sydney: 47 hrs
Melbourne: 44 hrs.

Not much difference at all!

Pales in comparison to a cloudier Nov or Dec here though, like with a paltry 25-45 hrs of sun for the entire month.
Can't say for sure, but I believe I've seen months where we recorded less than 30 hrs of sun.

I just noticed part of the title of the thread:

"...(temperature, days, Canada, cloud)..."

Funny, damo1995, I liked that.

But Canada doesn't suck today.

Toronto:

Morning low of 20-21 C (68-70 F)
High of 25-27 C (77-80 F)
Risk of t-storms (nothing happened though)
Dewpoints between 19-21 C (67-70 F)
Easy to break a sweat between 9am and 7pm

I see from the 30-year means that the July mean daily temp. for Toronto is 22.2C, exactly 0.1C less than Sydney Ob. Hill's values for Jan & Feb, so not bad at all. The annual mean sunshine is 2038 hrs with a lowest value for December with 75 hours. Depending on the technology used to measure the sunshine (at those latitudes Campbell-Stokes equipment routinely fails to pick up about 30 minutes' worth at the endpoints of daylight), and any site obstructions, that total could be 48-49% of the possible, not the 44% quoted in the normals. I don't know what your air pollution levels are like of course, but the few major cities I've seen in the NH temperate zones all clearly had much lower clarity of light than is common in this country.

Are you mentioning our summer averages because they impress you?
I think our average for July is close to 27 C in the day and 16 C at night.
It's quite normal for us to have no morning lows below 17 C for weeks-on-end.

Unlike deneb's recent comment,
generally I find Toronto's summers normally pleasant to only slightly-disappointing for people who love warmth, heat and sun.
We can get spells that are quite the opposite too though, like "English Summer" or "hotter than tropical."
My complaints about lack of 30+ C and 32+ C heat are mostly that our summer often lacks excitement.

Being reminded that Septmember is 6-7 weeks away.

If any one person was responsible for the end of summer, as in they "caused" it, I'd murder them. Pre-meditated carefully, including a crafty way to dispose of the body.

This ghastly summer has turned to sh£% now, and continues as dull and bloody insipid as ever, so far barely 50 hours of sun in the first half of July, NO THUNDERSTORMS now for nearly ELEVEN MONTHS. I'm not joking! Longest time in my life without thunder. Effing ridiculous!

Fuxton truly is a sodding climatological FAIL of a miserable town. Everywhere else in England is currently being pounded by strong storms with hail etc... but it ALL missed us and no more is coming. SHYYYYYYYYYYTE

EDIT: One of those strong storms with hail etc... just hit us head on 45 minutes ago
