Here's the OP's ACTUAL OP predating this one where we dissected the towns prior to her visit.

RV what do you do in Boca? Just wondering as I just moved to the area though was here in the winter and am looking for things to do. I am younger 31 but am not into like bars but would like to keep busy and meet new people.

On safety I live in Boca and it is gated and feel pretty safe but I have been to areas like in West Palm etc that I felt uncomfortable. I know crime can happen anywhere though.

Jamiemoving I hope you sell your home soon and if move it is a good transition. I came from MI but before that Ca so not like Chicago but a change. If I can help in anyway let me know. I did so much driving when I came in the winter trying to find a place to live. Many areas I would not get out of the car. Just FYI if you make the move if coming in season it may be harder to find a place and the price especially if short term is much higher.

Wow, your observations were very informative. My boyfriend will be moving from Chicago to Miami this year. He's already missing Chicago. Looks like it's just gonna be the beginning.

Dreamer312...I'm a former 312er...we miss living in the city..you can't duplicate that here...not Miami nor Ft. Lauderdale. The ONE thing we don't miss are those Chicago winters. When we want a little city feel, we hop on a plane to Chicago or NY. I've learned there is no perfect place...you will have to give up something in order to get something else. We gladly gave up our snow shovels!! Good luck.
