Looking at a property on North L st and 3rd just over the bridge to Palm beach. We are in our sixties with a disabled adult child so we want an area where she would be safe being outside. Can we walk around here without being hassled?? Thanks

Sorry, but truthfully it is not safe to walk on the streets. There are frequent robberies of a person in this neighborhood.
I wish I could tell you better news but you need the truth. I live very close to where you are referring to.
The robberies are not just at night, either...although the majority of them are. Some occur during the day as well.
We have a fenced in yard and do sit outside. It is safer when you are on your property...but I'd feel less safe if I didn't have the little fence that we do.
What is the house number of the home you are looking at - I can tell you more! I drive through that corner every day.

219 North L between 2nd and 3rd avenue north. my son lives on 10th off federal hwy. Im also looking at condos over the bridge in Palm beach but if i can save some money on the maintenence fees I can get a little bigger place.

219 is a nice looking and new building, with many condo's and/or apartments (I don't know). I really like it and love how it's all in nice colors. Very nice.

I haven't been inside of the entrance since I've no business to be in there. I assumed the address would be a house, since most in that area are houses. So, no yard with a fence. I don't know how it is there but I do know that these streets do have some rotten creeps that come here and do robberies and thefts and even vandalism to cars parked on the street at times in the night. Mostly tire slashings...but that seems do have tapered off in the last few months.

Yes, I would walk the block and a half into downtown but also yes, I would be relieved to get back home without incident. I worry about walking to town...very many people here don't worry at all.

Those very nice units at 219 have great private balconies, I noticed this morning. That would be exceptionally safe if your unit is above ground level.

You can walk on your balcony...just do a lot of laps.

Seriously, though - I think it would be safe walking if there were 2 of you. It's always a single person that gets robbed.

what is the story with all these condos for sale along the beach? I know the HOA fees are high, like 7-8 hundred but they all seem to have these special assesments attached. Some of them are very high. I can pay 250 for a condo and swing 750-800 a month for maintenence but not a few grand for fees that were supposed to be paid by some deadbeat owners who owe their bills and then put the place up for sale. Now the other owners have to pay the difference. Is that where this money goes? cant we take that off the asking price?
