We were actually looking at Morgantown, because I've read that it's got a lot going on because of the university. I've also read that the area leans toward being more liberal (again, maybe because of the university), and we're pretty progressive (though more libertarian/socially progressive). Would y'all say that the Morgantown area is pretty progressive? Don't want the west coast taxes - just the vibe...lol...

Nobody is going to confuse us with San Francisco here, but this is a University city and is tolerant of virtually any point of view. I'd rate it is probably the most liberal in our state, and you'd have no problem at all finding like minded folks in these parts. It's probably more on the order of Monterey (I used to live there) than the Bay Area. People come from all over here, and there are the "natives" and lots of transplants too. You wouldn't be out of place as a transplant.

Yes, it is very much more progressive that most of the state. We really are more Pittsburgher than stereo typical West Virginians here. But you'll also find our housing market is HIGHLY over inflated at the moment, and don't espect it to deflate anytime soon. You'll expect to pay 20-40% Higher rates than the average for the nation.
