Unsurprisingly Mon county leads the state and WVU is by far the best and only good college in WV. The discrepancy in education between Min and the rest of the state is amazing.

That sure was a lot to read! I wonder how many bureaucrats it took to write that. I found an interesting tidbit on page 11. "Most certificates and associate's degrees, however, are awarded within the Community and Technical College System."

Looks like those small community schools play a bigger role in the lives of the citizens than I realized. They seem to get little publicity.

Community colleges give associate degrees...

Colleges and universities tend to give bachelor degrees.

Colleges still give certificates but people tend to go for a degree.

So yeah most people get an associates and certificates at community colleges. Not just in WV.

Looks like Marshall's undergrad population is growing faster than WVU. I hear all the bologna from CT and Cry about 35K students - well, I looked at the hard numbers and WVU has only grown from 17K when I was there in the mid/late 70s to 21K now - that's not that much - you guys are stetching the truth - WVUs growth over the past three decades has been slow.

Of course it is growing faster. WVU capped admissions and doesn't want to grow. WVU has just shy of 30k. I never said it was 35k. Stop making things up.

BTW funny you attented in the 70s. Another poster with a similar attitude to yours was also there in the 70s. You two should talk.

Marshall did have a temporary spike in enrollment like most commuter oriented schools due to the economic downturn in southern West Virginia. Many people simply could not afford to go to school away from home. 2012 figures have not been released yet, but they will show a decline in Marshall's enrollment while West Virginia's undergraduate enrollment holds steady due to capped admissions but graduate enrollment grows.

It's unusual for people to troll on these boards these days since we have adopted a cooperative attitude around here, but it appears you are very new to the process so I suppose you don't know that. Living in $100,000 affluence with no unemployment there is probably a lot of things you don't know. Things have changed a lot since you went to jail.
