Washington, WV (Parkersburg: high school, live, friendly)

My wife and I are considering retiring in the Washington , WV area. We are young retirees and like to fish, hunt, jog and like friendly small town atmospheres. Anyone care to comment on that area? Thanks.

You have picked a very good small size community to retire at, Dupont factory there and Ohio River is just a few feet away, with good boating and fishing, I lived in Matheny Addn. for about 8 years and we liked it very much, and only a few miles south of Parkersburg, in fact the high school kids from there go to Parkersburg South High. Winters there have really been mild the last several years, although, it still gets cold occasionally. You will love it there!!!
