What is the best place to go off the grid in West Virginia? No building or zoning codes. Free to build your own cabin, composting toilet, solar panels, rainwater catchment ect. Any help would be much appreciated!

Really anywhere in the eastern part of the state in the mountains would be exactly what you're looking for. Try looking in and around Webster, Pocahontas, Randolph, Tucker, Grant, Hardy, and Pendleton Counties.

Just stay away from the eastern panhandle if you want to live off grid. This area sucks anyway.
