There was snow on the treetops and on the tops of the mountains at the beginning of the week. It didn't last long, but sure was pretty. Why can
t we have snow every night of the year and temps in the 60's - 70's during the days? I'd trade my rainy days for snowy nights. Where can I place my order for that?
Nice pictures millersangel, what camera are you using?
Thank you.
Pentax K10D with the Pentax smc P-DA 18-250mm F3.5-6.3 lens. I have a macro lens but too cold to mess with changing lenses. :) I can use telephoto to get the shallow dof but lose the sharpness in the focal area.
My coworker just returned from his farm in the high country of Pocahontas County, he says they recieved about 8-9 inches of fresh snow earlier this week up there.
silka and isn't it weird- past two days in charleston have been a pleasant 75 degrees. Caught up on yard work and tree trimming. Now all I have to do is finish insulation.
Hinton I'm certain this trend of lower gas is temporary because they're too much under scrutiny after congressional hearings, and that scrutiny has broadened in scope to wall street (yes, they're culprits here too). Once they turn their backs the mice will go back to their games. Public outcry goes a long way since $5 per gallon, eh?
Typo a gas clerk made- gas was on sale for 35 cents a gallon for about 20 minutes somewhere (Missouri?) before he realized he slipped a digit. $8 to fill a ford explorer. Dayum that's like a once in a lifetime comet went by.
I remember running around with friends in high school and we'd all dig around for change to fill up the tank for a night of cruising - gas was about $.35 gal in the mid-70's. Ah, the good old days!!! On the flip side.... we had to dig around and pool our money to come up with the cash for the gas. No designer jeans, expensive shoes, etc. for us.

Those were the good ol days. And just about everyone drove a gas guzzler and nobody had to pump their own gas. It was just unheard of. A customer getting out of the car to pump his own gas or check his own tires?? Certainly not!. Even as teens out cruising, when we pulled into a gas station, the attendant would put in $0.56 of gas at our request, check the tires, check the fluid levels under the hood and wash your windshield - all for the pleasure of serving...
