I am not from the US and only planning to live here for another year so excuse my ignorance of local politics. I won't be allowed to vote so didn't see the point in wasting energy on something I have no control over.
However I have received 3 phone calls in 2 days from 'political' candidates / automated survey (not idea how they got my number) and despite my very british accent they have continued to survey me without asking if I am even a voter, so now I am curious...... is there some sort of local election about to happen ?? should I be prepared for people knocking on the door canvasing ??
To me they fair game and I have given the most outrageous answers to their questions..... just for my own amusement..... I won't even write what I have been saying because I am certain I will be attacked but I have to say it was hard keeping a straight face and I am glad they were on the end phone.... do I need to brush up my act for the doorstep appearances ??
I do however love winding up the people who call me asking if I'd like to get the daily news delivered........ I've even said - in English - "sorry I don't understand English" and they really don't know what to say in reply......
