Can anyone enlighten me as to the legal community in Asheville? Significant other is planning on attending acupuncture school in Asheville. I'll be fresh from law school. I know the market across the country is pretty full. Wondering if Asheville fits the exception or the rule.

Check with the large firms in Asheville. Roberts & Stevens; VanWinkle et als., and a host of others. Asheville may actually exceed the "jobs available in law" rule; unless you are prepared to take work as a paralegal just to get your foot in the door, and even that may not be possible.

You may have better luck staying in FL a few more years and gaining experience with a firm there before considering relocation. Or, try somewhere in the Triad. Raleigh/Durham - Greensboro - Winston Salem. Much larger cities.

Thanks for the info. I live in Jax, FL, where current starting wages for an attorney are around $39,500/yr. Could Asheville even be lower? Or on par? Southern cities, per usual, are much lower than their Northern counterparts.
