Thinking of relocating to Asheville for school... (Charlotte: apartment, rent)

Really leaning towards going to AB-Tech in Asheville, NC. I know there may be better colleges but this one is in state and doesn't require a high school diploma (which I didn't earn because of personal reasons.) I've always loved AVL as a tourist because part of my family lives here but I live more east near Charlotte. Is Asheville a relatively good place to live? I'd be moving with my friend and splitting rent for an apartment. I know I'm a fan of the hippie lifestyle but I've heard it's not much the same anymore. Is Asheville still a nice and safe place to live? Thanks!

It requires a GED.

Actually I've spoken to a representative a few times just to check and you have to be 18 OR have a diploma/GED

"A-B Tech is an open-door institution, which accepts all applicants who have graduated from high school, hold a GED or adult high school diploma, are at least 18 years of age or older, are an emancipated minor, or a dual enrollment student (still in high school). "

Can't believe you could take accredited courses without a GED....... guitar1 or stained glass..yes. Rethink your position.

You may want to ask again and be a little more specific. ANYONE can take classes at ABTech. Whether they count as college credits is another story. You can certainly earn your GED there first.
