I drove to WNC from SWFL on Tuesday. I thought I could make it in one day, but I gave up and took an exit off of 23 and checked into a hotel. Since I was driving at night, of course I didn't realize how colorful the scenery was and, as I passed Tallulah Falls and Rabun Gap in GA I was treated to some beautiful views. Most of the leaves here in Macon County have fallen, but it's still very pretty & colorful. The weather is perfect, although I realize this area badly needs rain.
