I lived in the city of Chicago almost all of my adult life, and now live in Tucson, AZ (for the past 5 years). To me, the Chicagoland area is the most friendly place I have ever lived, and I have lived in San Francisco, Minneapolis, and even Mexico (big USA retirement area). We are hoping to move to Asheville, NC next year. I hope that we will not be disappointed again. That is why I am writing in this blog. Are there any other Chicagoans who have moved to Asheville to retire and have been able to make friends? Asheville looks like a most beautiful city, and the weather seems just right. But, if I am going to move to another city, I want to know what to expect. So, if you are from the CITY of Chicago, please respond.
