So we are thinking about moving to williston ND next year. I'm wondering a few things.

1. I'm seeing 3 bdr apartments for around 1,200 a month. Is that accurate?
2. How much are people paying for utilities during the cold months?
3. Is the oilfield job market good? I'm seeing tons of jobs posted on indeed and Craigslist for stanley, new town and williston. Have you had a hard time finding an oil field job?

My husband is a truck driver/heavy equipment operator. Trying to find a good company for him to work for. Thanks y'all!

Hi,
I spent several weeks living in our rental home in Williston while refurbishing it this summer. I think the cost estimate you listed is accurate, even perhaps on the high end as I saw homes for that rental price and much lower.

Williston is a decent place, lots of family oriented activities and small town friendly folks. The boom brought people from all over our country, and Williston seems to me to be very accepting and a great mix now of many cultures. I actually enjoyed my weeks there and I found folks very helpful and friendly.

My home is near Wilkinson grade school....which is known to be a very good school and the neighborhood is very middle class and quiet, so I would recommend anyone looking near that school. The new library, the Raymond Center, the Hospital are all right there too. The Williston High School is a few blocks away.

There is a newer H.S. in the Pheasant Run neighborhood, but I've heard from locals that the area there gets overly congested and overly crowded so I would still recommend the Williston H.S. neighborhood.

The housing market has settled down a lot in the last couple of years with the waning of the frenzied boom years. Prices are more reasonable and housing more available. There are some very nice apartment communities, several only a couple of years old with many amenities for reasonable prices and many geared towards families.

Indeed.com or JobsND.com will be a couple of better sources for job leads.

There are many older threads on here to read about companies and issues if you simply look through topics in the Williston forum.

Or, there are likely other websites that deal with trucking jobs where you might ask as well. Perhaps you could even start a specific new thread asking what the best trucking companies are.

I don't find utilities to be any higher here then across state where I actually live. I would definitely suggest gas heat over electric heat though.

If you are interested in checking housing listings use the names of the Wilkinson, or the Raymond Center and locate them on a google map....then you'll see the neighborhoods and street names etc.
