Sorry, but I am with the boss on this one. I worked with someone who kept having all of these legitimate medical issues, deaths, dealing with a disabled child, and she kept missing work...and I had to do her work, plus my own. It got to a point, where ... I could not keep up.
If you can't make it to work, sorry...but the world moves on...
I have also worked with a 'sickie'. She took so many days off for various maladies that we wondered if she was really doctor shopping for pills. I feel for the lady, but the company has to do whats right for its business, especially a small business.
One day these people might need some life saving help and hopefully somebody is willing to be there for them...but if you believe in Karma they might be out of luck. What goes around comes around!
Just more barbaric and inhumane behavior in the overall decline of the United States. It does seem like a certain faction in the American workforce is hellbent on being an embarrassment--and that includes those who take the attitude "too bad, so sad." Anything for the almighty buck, right?
that is sad. Although I can somehow find a way to agree with both sides, I wouldn't want to have to trade places with the mother for any reason. That is horrible of the company to do that to her.
