I gave mine a 2 just because I like some of the people I work with and they do give me a paycheck every two weeks. But I can't stand what I do, need to make a little more money, and there are a few Bozos around here that offset the decent people.

No offense intended to Bozo the Clown or any of his fans, by the way. It's just a figure of speech.

4-5. Pay is good, hours are good, people are generally nice, but the upper management is mostly corporate douches and the work is not exactly socially beneficial.

I like my new job, but some of the interal policies seem kind of ridiculous. Anyway, I voted 7. There is a lot more potential at this company than with my last employer.

1 (I guess I can't give 0 or negative numbers) Hate it, the job, the company, the profession, the pay....

A couple of years ago I would have gone with a five or six. After two years of cuts and being pushed to 'do more with less' the little enthusiasm I had has mostly disappeared.

Completely depends on what the alternative is. If I had a trust fund or a lottery win, I'd leave smoke and forget this "profession" ever existed. If it's up against an office job (I did tech writing for two tortured years), then I like this job a lot better.
To me, "liking" a job is about wanting to get that particular work done, and I know that not everyone thinks that way.

I voted an 8, even though I really enjoy my job. That would be the highest I'd give any job - work is not my "life" anymore.

Ten. Took me 30 years to get here. Job before this one, -10.

I easily see myself here for the next 20 years.

I enjoy it, but would like it even better if one boss didn't micromanage everything to death. I'm generally happy at my job, though.
