(So that employers and employees can have both days off?) Things seem to be going in that direction!

Well, since the place I work is open 365 days a year, I guess I never thought about it. I suppose it would end up being one of the minor holidays so I wouldn't even get double pay for working it.

It would also get rid of the best excuse I have for not going shopping with my mother, which is always, sorry I have to work.

We get it off, but no, I don't think it should be an official holiday. It's really not any reason to celebrate. There are other, more worthy days.

Many companies are closed on that day already. I do not think I have ever worked anywhere where the office was open that day.

If one works in retail, it won't matter - someone has to man the registers for all of the Black Friday idiots.

I've never had that day off, so no. It's a shopping day, that's all.

No I don't. I always had the day off until I worked in the corporate office of a grocery retailer. They don't even get off for Memorial Day.

i dont think it would matter if you work in retail . You still have to be there to get paid for having thanksgiving day off . So retail it would not make much difference .

If you don't work in retail, sure. It's de-facto that it's a day off though for the most part.

No, I work. I always have. It is a paperwork day, because no one comes in anyway, and most of the other people are gone.
