I'm so confused a job I applied to in January randomly calls me (out of state) to tell ask me about a position that's full but then tells me someone may call me for an interview. But then tells me that I should reapply for the another open position and if I have applied their (which I have) to reapply.

What the hell? I'm confused on why they would call in the first place.. The person on the phone sounded a bit confused too. I don't know.

I mean I'm going to reapply but I find it strange they would call to tell me that.

The fact that they called you personally at least means they're giving you a chance. Goodluck.

You should be thankul that they called you, and from out of state.

That is UNHEARD of these days.

They're telling you there is another position that they think you're qualified for and what to interview you.

Good luck!

Companies that follow up with their applicants is now a foreign concept. It wasn't so long ago that this was a courtesy practiced by many companies.

You may as well get used to the idea of letdowns and try not to let it bother you, it's just part of
looking for a job these days. Most places would simply post it again and leave it up to you and the others to notice and apply again, so you are lucky to have been called. It doesn't mean you were any better or worse than the other candidates, so don't get your hopes up, but try again and keep trying if this one doesn't work out.
