It depends on the people you are referring to. If time after time they are laid off, they become demoralized by a job market that is making low and mid skilled workers disposable. When the cost of living is always rising but there pay is not can you really blame them for being frustrated?
I'm referring to the people in the slide show. I don't see any way for employers to get in touch with them.

Ageism is a massive problem in this country both for people with jobs and those looking for jobs. If you read articles on unemployment and look at the comments, a lot of people saying they have been unemployed long term also say they are over 50. It is fairly depressing because everyone says they have to work until 70 or death, but they may not necessarily have that choice which could be disastrous for an aging population. There are going to be a massive amount of people taking SS early at 62 if this job market does not improve. Regarding the article, I don't quite understand. In the Florida forum, people who hate Florida are always bragging about the booming economy and low unemployment in Texas. Is it because she is in Austin which is a young college town?
