I personally wouldn't contact the bank. It's not my style. You got your box even though the guy was a total arse. You probably will never need him again for something. I'd just skip it. That's just me.

-Cheers.

Yes, I just meant that it would be super awkward.

What the heck are YOU thinking?

He's going to steal from the OP or mess with his stuff. Both of which are illegal. What are you suggesting?

No, good grief.

What were you suggesting? Why is it a bad idea in your opinion to tell the manager on someone who has access to the vault? Now, I'm curious.

Settle down. I already said it. I just meant that it would be awkward during future interactions.

Everyone knows stealing is illegal. Believe me, I never forego a chance to write a "strongly worded letter" after bad service or a sincere letter of appreciation after good service.

The manager isn't going to say John Smith said. He's going to say tone it down, people are complaining. Even if he did say John Smith, the guys not going to remember unless he has some strange name.

What is sad is that someone took time out of their day to complain about this on an internet forum. Maybe the guy was having a bad day, why should it be your business why?

I bet he was having a really bad day and might even have been hoping to get out early to take care of something but you showed up just in time to make him stay later.

Yes, he was giving poor service based on your description. It happens though.

You got your box. Let it go.

Is this a small bank or a branch of a Nat chain?

The reason I asked, is that in my experience, the Nat chains are the WORST with personal interaction and customer service, while the smaller local banks are more friendly and seem to care more.

We switched recently from a larger bank to our "hometown" bank, and I walked in and was greeted before the door could close, they asked how they could help, offered refreshments, and were wonderful. Ever since then, every time I swing by, either in the bank or through the drive through; they always remember my name (before they access my account), make niceties, etc...

I would absolutely complain to the bank Pres in person.

If they don't like it, what are they going to do; take away your birthday?!

Because while their jobs are finance, they are in the customer SERVICE business. Banks can't make money if they are crappy to their customers and run them all off. Since the bailouts, in this economy, they should be bending over backwards to please their clients to ensure the client's money remains in their bank.
