Speaking as a hiring manager in the banking world....yes, it matters. However, I always have looked at the whole picture, whereas some don't. Usually more emphasis is placed on the background check.

never broke a law, never got arrested, only had traffic tickets

I don't think you can do that. Can you get them consolidated to lower the payment? Do you have anyone who can help you get the loans paid to date?

No one said you were a criminal. A credit score is an easy way to weed out candidates, especially for business that handle large amounts of cash and stock. You do seem to excell at being a victim.

Why did you not request a deferrement on your student loans based on financial circumstances? Takes all of five minutes to apply online and mail your signed request.

Also apply for the income based repayment plan.

Eh no.

There's a reason student loans follow you forever... An education can't be repossessed and if you could graduate and then discharge the debt most people would... Myself included.

Years ago doctors were doing that exact thing...

Best advice is if you don't want non-dischargeable debt you should borrow from your local bank or something...
