I am just curious, I applied for this months ago and they just called me but of course I had to turn them down due to my recent job acceptance.

Does anyone have experience or is currently working as a GS?

Thanks!

Yeah, I was a GS employee as a civilian for the Army.

It was a good job, one that I wish I hadn't been furloughed from, thanks sequestration.

So you were the one person who was permanently sequestered.
The total number of federal jobs lost to sequestration? That would be… one. « Hot Air

A long time ago I worked for the Department of the Army as a civilian, and before that, I worked for the Department of the Navy as a civilian. Both were GS jobs. No different than any other civil service jobs, really.

When I was furloughed they told me they had no idea how long it was going to last and that it might end in people receiving RIF notices, I wasn't going to wait around for that. Fortunately for everyone else it turned out to be okay. I don't miss gov't work for a second.
