I'm just curious how people here receive their paychecks at work. During my internship, the receptionist would go down each cubicle and place one's check on his/her desk. There were only 7 employees at this office, so I'm curious how other people receive their checks.

Thanks.

With direct deposit, check stubs are placed in an envelope and handed out by someone in payroll. In my previous job they mailed the stub to your home.

Direct deposit and the pay stub is available online. The company I work for has about 80-90 employees.

Thank you for the replies so far. During my internship they sometimes would "forget" to give me my check. I had to go to the boss and ask him for my paycheck. He would say "ohh, next time let me know earlier okay?" It was a pain in the butt.

Are the physical pay stubs used as "receipts"?

Direct deposit, I don't have time for the 80s style of pay.

The purpose of a pay stub is to provide documentation of work performed (and when it was performed) and to function as a "receipt" of withholdings (taxes, etc).
