Yes, he was a narcissist, why do you ask? Cut me some slack, I was only 21 and I thought he was a god.
Parks and Rec totally based the Ron Swanson character on your ex bf!

I agree! They are detrimental. Spreading nonsense isn't a profession it's a waste of time lol.

Most beneficial is anything related to science and research, then besides that great artists (filmmakers, music, writing, whatever).

PS: Parent?! PARENT??? That's not a job or a profession. Wow. The win for most mediocre opinion on this thread goes to you! Holy cow. Even hamsters have offspring, what makes being a parent special? How about its just as useful and special as your kid turns out to be. If your kid works at Taco Bell all his life you contributed NOTHING to the world at all. If your kid is a great artist, maybe you can say you contributed something great. But for most people your kids are going to be at best mediocre cogs in the machine, helping some corporations to higher profits and maybe pumping out some kids of their own. As Nietzsche would say, "A goal is lacking."

Surprised no one listed a multi level marketer as one of the most detrimental.

They'd win in a landslide!! Marketers' purpose is putting lipstick on pigeons and inventing every gimmick in the book to convince you it's a swan. And there's no escaping their constantly in-your-face nonsense, either. At least with hookers, the "clients" know a hooker's a hooker, it's their own choice to seek one out, and they know what they're "buying".
The "Media" would be runner up for most detrimental. Used to have a purpose (objective & unbiased) other than strictly profit but not anymore. Don't matter what networks you watch, or which paper rags you'd read.... I guess they are basically marketers!

Too hard to pick amongst the teachers, police, farmers, etc. for most beneficial. This should be a poll lol.

My reasoning- stock brokers do not create anything or provide any service that adds value to human beings.
Without the organized stock market, there would be only a small amount of the total employment in this country. Big business would not be able to operate, and this alone would do away with half or more of the jobs in this country.
