Today was generally business as usual. Nothing really happened other than a few sensitive exchanges over IM between myself and my manager. But she continues to give me assignments and show me how to do things. This sucks. I was hoping they would get rid of me, to be honest.
This is the first job I ever had that is this strict with doctor's appointments and making up time. It's absurd. And IMO it's reason enough to leave, because chances are the next employer would be more flexible. The fact that I'm a new employee is irrelevant. ALL of my previous jobs didn't have a problem with me seeing a doctor during work hours, even as a new employee. So yes, I am shocked. All of my friends are shocked as well.
I am going to take the time this weekend to seriously think about what I want to do, because I can't take it anymore. I hate going to work there every day. I hate their policies and mentality. I hate accounting and wish I could go back in time and choose something else.
So, out of curiosity, how many Dr appointments have you had during working hours in the two months you've been with this company?

One.
But I need to see a chiropractor 3 times a week for three weeks. You know how hard that would be to schedule ALL of them outside of working hours? It's nearly impossible. Almost all of the night and weekend appointments are taken already, leaving me with no choice but to do appointments that overlap with work hours.
So you were hoping to get fired. Perhaps all of these appointments are an excuse to get away from work (even if you don't consciously realize it).
I have given this speech many times and I will again: You are not behaving as though you want this job. Excessive absence is the first hallmark, followed by complaints (check) and other things like storming out (check).
The HR Director suggested you part ways. Make no mistake about it, that is coming. They are now looking for ways to fire you. The fact that your boss is only talking to you by IM could indicate she is in data collection mode (gathering more reasons to kick you to the curb, as documented in your IM transcript).
As a manager, I wish people wouldn't make me fire them. Can't you just leave of your own volition? Clearly you want to.
LOL..I just found this thread..this **** is priceless!
